Johnson County Soil & Water Conservation District Sporting Clay Fundraiser

The Johnson County Soil & Water Conservation District Sporting Clay Fundraiser will be held at Highland Hideaway Hunting on Saturday, June 13th, from 9am to 1pm. All proceeds will go towards conservation education and outreach efforts in Johnson County. All levels of experience are welcome!

REGISTRATION

  • Early bird registration: $115
  • After June 1st: $125
  • Check-in begins at 9am, shoot starts at 10am, lunch will be at noon. Register online at www.jcswcd.org .

Registration fee includes:

  • 100 target sporting clay round
  • 4 boxes of shells
  • Lunch

WHAT TO BRING

  • Eyewear and hearing protection
  • Shotgun
  • Appropriate clothing for being outside

Golf Cart, 4-wheeler or other ATV’s are allowed on the course.

Family Ice Fishing Day Update

Due to Weather Conditions the Event Has Been Moved

Due to the unusually cold temperatures we finally have safe Ice for the FAMILY ICE FISHING DAY. We’ve decided to replace the Wild Game Feed with the Family Ice Fishing Day this weekend. Please let everyone know and come out this Saturday Feb. 28 to Highland Hunting for a family fun event!

Event Details

  • Where: Highland Hunting Preserve
  • When: February 28, 2015 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • Cost: $20 per family (includes lunch & dessert, fishing and door prize tickets)
  • Prizes: Everyone is entered for door prizes and there are a number of ways to win prizes while fishing.
  • Ice Fishing Safety: Free Fish Iowa and Aquatic Education handouts and booklets for the kids
  • Food: Lunch is included and snacks are available throughout the day

** There will be a live rescue demonstration by the Riverside Fire Department starting at 10:00 am. **

Don’t have gear? We will have a limited supply of gear available for your use at the event. All children 15 years of age and younger must be accompanied by an adult with a current and valid Iowa fishing license.

High Flyin’ Eatin’: The Best Last Hunt Of The Year…Ever!

Back from one trip to the west, a different twist to another hunting trip and a willing appetite got me back on the road again for one last shot at Iowa roosters.

Riverside, Iowa – When you’ve chased as many wild rooster pheasants as my son Matt and I have over the years, it’s pretty apparent…it’s what we love.

Good shotguns.  Good friends.  Good dogs.  Good shooting, and a good evening by the fire at the Highland Hideaway Lodge here in Riverside, Iowa this weekend to bid a fond closure to another year.

But always…I want one more good hunt, and one more different experience, to finish the hunting season.  That’s what I was looking for earlier this fall when I invited Bill Glover to accompany me, Matt, and Press Pros sponsor Jim Hemmelgarn, from Sidney, Ohio on my traditional holiday hunt at the Highlands Lodge in Riverside, Iowa.
