NSCA Level I Instructor Course

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED

July 24-26, 2015 at Highland

Clayton Rue, NSCA Level III Instructor, will be conducting an NSCA Level I Instructor Course at Highland Hideaway Hunting July 24-26, 2015.  If you are an experienced shotgun shooter and have the desire to introduce others to our sport by teaching them how to shoot a shotgun, then sign up now!

In the Level I program, the goal is to provide beginning instructors with the knowledge and ability to teach the fundamentals to novice and beginning shooters. This is a perfect course for those shooters interested in coaching youth (SCTP, FFA, NRA, etc) shooters.  You will learn how to instruct a shooter on such basics as setting up foot and body position for proper balance; setting up hand and shotgun position to move with the target; how to use the eyes to acquire a target; understanding why a target was missed; and why all this is important.

Wondering if you meet the criteria to enroll?  All you need is the following:

  • Be a member in good standing with the NSCA
  • Have a desire to work with shooting students in a one-on-one situation
  • Have a desire to function effectively in the role of teacher and empathize with the student’s situation.
  • Be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age
  • Have had at least two (2) years of shooting experience
  • Have taken a minimum of two hours of lessons with at least an NSCA Level I instructor (or equivalent) or above.
  • Be a competent shot which can be satisfied by either holding an NSCA rating of C Class and having shot at least 3,000 lifetime registered targets OR by proving your shooting competency at the course.

Cost of the course is $500, plus each student’s share of instructor expenses, plus cost of all targets shot.

Space is limited. To download an application or for more information, go to: www.nssa-nsca.org and visit their Becoming an Instructor area.
